Originally formulated in London as a performing alter-ego for fashion student and nascent singer-songwriter Moema Meade, Lady Neptune has been an ongoing work, evolving from distorted guitar dirges and lo-fi pop experiments in to its current hardcore-gabba nadir. In order to bridge this gap, however - Moe set out to create a series of cover versions, programmed on to various synths and drum machines for fun and also as a means of learning how to produce her own bonkers and empowering 4am rave tracks. The result of this early foray into hardware hijinx is The Brown Madonna - a mega cute and vibrant tribute to auld Madge and some of her more memorable 80s-90s output, done in a totally charming and bass-heavy synth-pop styling, where fun is still very much a real possibility!

‘After several years of moonlighting as a bass player in various DIY bands up and down the country, the Glasgow-based singer-songwriter and producer adopted her creature-of-the-night persona as an outlet for high-powered live performances.
